2022 Walk to End Alzheimer's

Held annually in more than 600 communities nationwide, the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s® is the world’s largest fundraiser for Alzheimer’s care, support and research. This inspiring event calls on participants of all ages and abilities to join the fight against the disease.

Walk to End Alzheimer’s is full of flowers, each carried by someone committed to raising funds and awareness for a breakthrough in the fight against Alzheimer’s and all other dementia. Your participation makes a difference in the lives of those facing the disease.

Local children’s author, master cook, and Army veteran Winsome Bingham visits the New Haven Free Public Library, 133 Elm Street, Café Patio (1st floor)! Listen to a reading of Soul Food Sunday, participate in activities that get kids moving, and ask questions! This event is offered in partnership with Yale’s affinity groups. Open to all ages and families, up to a maximum of 20 kids. Registration is encouraged.

Love146 Information Session

At any given moment, an estimated 40.3 million people are being victimized in situations of trafficking and exploitation (including forced marriage) worldwide. 25% of these are children.

Please join the Future Leaders of Yale, LGBTQ Affinity Group, Working Women’s Network, Yale African American Affinity Group, and Yale Latino Networking Group for an information session with Love146.

Attendees will learn about child trafficking, vulnerabilities that make a child more susceptible, programs that Love146 offers, and how to help/get involved.

Join The Descendants of the CT 29th Colored Regiment for their sixth annual Juneteenth event on Saturday, June 18th at the CT Violence Intervention Program, 230 Ashmun Street, from noon until 6:00 pm. The Harlem Renaissance is the inspiration of this year’s theme – Juneteenth New Haven! Revival of Cultural, Personal, and Social Wellness.
