VIRTUAL: The 50/50 Campaign Virtual Learning Session

Join YWCA Hartford Region, Yale’s Affinity Groups, and The New Haven Club of The National Association of Negro Business and Professional Women’s Club’s Inc. for a virtual learning session about the 50/50 Campaign, an initiative to promote gender equity and racial diversity on municipal boards and commissions. The 50/50 Campaign educates and encourages community members to join their local municipal boards and commissions to ensure residents have a voice in the decision-making process and help improve the quality of life for their community.

Fair Haven Day

Join us for a parade and festival celebrating community, local art and artists, culture, sports, creativity, entrepreneurship, and partnership, presented by and for the Fair Haven neighborhood. Fair Haven Day begins with the Fair Haven Community Parade organized by the Mary Wade Home, followed by a full day of activities at the Arts & Ideas Fair Haven Neighborhood Festival.

VIRTUAL: Love146 Information Session

According to the International Labour Organization, over 3 million children were trafficked in 2022. Please join us for an information session with Love146, where you will learn about the programs they offer, how to help or get involved, and resources for keeping kids safe online. For over 20 years, Love146 has been developing survivor care, reintegration, and prevention programming all over the world.

Create Your Energy Road Map

Are you tired of yo-yo dieting? Want to feel energized, and improve your health, but don’t know where to start? Join our very own Eliana Serna, Functional Nutritionist and Integrative Health Coach, for an interactive virtual workshop on February 13 from 12-1 pm to craft your energy road map.

In the workshop, we will discuss:

• What energy is
• Primary foods and secondary foods
• How to identify where your energy is leaking
• Balanced meals and satiety
• Non bake demonstrations

Self-Care In The Latin Community: Cuidados Personales

Join the Yale Latino Networking Group and National Alliance on Mental Illness for an interactive discussion about self-care in the Latin community. We will discuss what mental health is, why mental health is important, what self-care is, and why self-care is important for our mental health. Attendees will walk away with self-care tips, and knowledge about support systems, services, and resources.

YLNG Steering Committee Meeting

Please join in our monthly YLNG Steering Committee meetings. These meetings are an opportunity to hear about what has been happening with YLNG and what is in the works. We welcome all those who are interested in getting involved and sharing their ideas.

The April meeting will take place both virtually and in-person (Office of Human Resources, 221 Whitney Ave, Conference Room 414). Lunch will be provided for in-person attendees that register by Friday, April 14th.
