YLNG Virtual Spring Social

Join the Yale Latino Networking Group for a great opportunity to reconnect with colleagues at our virtual spring social. Let’s celebrate YLNG’s year of accomplishments, learn about our plans for the coming year, and how you can contribute to our work in support of the Latino community at Yale and in the greater New Haven community.

Shadowboxing Fitness Class

Please join the Yale Latino Networking Group, Asian Network at Yale, and Future Leaders of Yale for a fun cardio shadowboxing fitness class with Cheri Eleazer. This high-energy workout challenges the beginner and elite athlete alike. Build stamina, improve coordination and flexibility, and burn calories as you build lean muscle. No experience or equipment is necessary to participate in this event. Bring yourself and a bottle of water, and prepare to sweat and socialize.

Building Community: Before, During, and Post COVID

Join the Office of Diversity & Inclusion for a panel discussion with affinity group leaders about building community during COVID and beyond. We will discuss the impact the affinity groups are having on the Yale University brand; how they are strengthening the relationships between Yale and Greater New Haven based organizations; and their impact this past year in terms of culture, career, community, and excellence.

In honor of Lupus Awareness Month, join the Yale African American Affinity Group, Asian Network at Yale, Future Leaders of Yale, LGBTQ Affinity Group, and Yale Latino Networking Group for Systemic Lupus Erythematosus: A Few Tips on “Taming Your Wolf, Taming Your Lupus”. Dr. Vaidehi Chowdhary will discuss how to treat Lupus, recent advances, and what to ask your health care providers.

When Did Slavery End in the United States for African-Americans?

Join the Yale African American Affinity Group, Yale Latino Networking Group, Future Leaders of Yale, Working Women’s Network, and Asian Network at Yale for a Juneteenth event titled “When Did Slavery End in the United States for African-Americans?” We will be joined by Dr. Antoinette Harrell, Johnny Lee Gaddy, and Stephanie Suzanne Franklin, Esq.

The Goodlife Center & Yale University Art Gallery Presents: Lindaluz Carrillo Artist in Residence

El Abrazo (The Embrace)
Friday, 5/7 from 1:30-2:30pm: When you think of the word “embrace,” who/what do you think of? In this workshop, participants will partner up to share moments of embrace. While one person is sharing, the other person will draw their story, and each person will get 20 minutes to share and create. All Yale students and staff are welcome! Bring paper, a writing utensil, and optional coloring supplies.
