The Yale MacMillan Center Council on Latin American and Iberian Studies, Fox International Fellowship Program, and Program on Peace and Development are delighted to announce the 2022 Latin American Policy Leader Series.
From January to May 2022, the Yale community will have the opportunity to hear from and discuss with high-level Latin American experts and policymakers about how we can work together towards a more equal and just world.

Join us for a festive Yale Alumni Service Corps Mexican meal…prepared by you! We will be making enchiladas verdes, a traditional Mexican dish with a unique flavor and a very long history dating back to the Mayas. Their delicious taste has made them a popular menu in Mexico and other parts of the world. We will also learn how to make ponche de manzana (apple punch) and platanos flameados con ron (flamed plantains with rum). You will receive the recipes and shopping list a few days before the event.

LIFFY strives to promote cultural awareness, mutual understanding, and unity among people of different backgrounds. It carries out this mission by showing films that share the stories and perspectives of people from the diverse countries, languages, and cultures of Latin America and the Iberian Peninsula.
All films presented at LIFFY are shown in their original languages with English subtitles. LIFFY screenings are presented free of charge and are open to all members of the Yale and greater New Haven community.

El Abrazo (The Embrace)
Friday, 5/7 from 1:30-2:30pm: When you think of the word “embrace,” who/what do you think of? In this workshop, participants will partner up to share moments of embrace. While one person is sharing, the other person will draw their story, and each person will get 20 minutes to share and create. All Yale students and staff are welcome! Bring paper, a writing utensil, and optional coloring supplies.

Intenciones (Intentions)
Friday, 4/2 from 1:30-2:30pm: What does intentionality look like for you, and what does it mean to grow into the person you are becoming? In this workshop, we will explore the importance of accountability, self-acceptance, being present, and acknowledging our past. We will reflect on who exactly we intend to be and create an origami craft detailing these intentions. All Yale students and staff are welcome! Necessary materials include paper (origami paper recommended but not required), a writing utensil, and optional coloring supplies.
