Join Lourdes Sabé for a one-hour crash course in essential Spanish phrases with some Hispanic cultural notes and a touch of fiesta fun!

Maria-Lourdes Sabé Colom is a Senior Lector in the Department of Spanish and Portuguese.

From Barcelona, Spain, has a Teaching Degree and B.A. in Social Sciences from the Universitat de Barcelona. While finishing her studies, was awarded an Erasmus scholarship to study in Toulouse-Le Mirail, France. She has an M.A. in Spanish from Southern Connecticut State University and a doctorate in Modern Languages from Middlebury College, VT. She has taught at both Middlebury College and Yale. She is interested in ways to engage and inspire students in the foreign language classroom.

Her areas of interest include nineteenth century Spanish Literature, Women Writers of Spain, second language acquisition techniques, integration of culture into the classroom.
