Join Descendants of the CT 29th Colored Regiment for their 9th Annual Juneteenth Festival on Saturday, June 22nd. The social wellness of all people of color is the inspiration of this year’s theme – Pan Africanism: Unified by History, Connected in Culture, and Focused on the Future. This free, fun, family event will offer African American history artifacts, arts & crafts, college essay/college preparation support, music by DJ Triple Threat, employment information, fire safety, health information, line dancing, local performers, vendors, a children’s corner with Yale’s own author of Pearl and Her Gee’s Bend Quilt, Tangular Irby, and more! There will also be free hot dogs and soda for the first 200 children who come to the event with their family. For more information, contact Kelly Mero at: ct29regiment@gmail.com or (203) 298-8090.
