Join The Descendants of the CT 29th Colored Regiment for their sixth annual Juneteenth event on Saturday, June 18th at the CT Violence Intervention Program, 230 Ashmun Street, from noon until 6:00 pm. The Harlem Renaissance is the inspiration of this year’s theme – Juneteenth New Haven! Revival of Cultural, Personal, and Social Wellness.
There will be a specific area just for children that will include face painting, art activities, a bike ride, and health information. For adults, there will be employment opportunities and some will allow guests to apply to vacancies on the spot! There will also be health information, screenings, COVID vaccines, and local talented artists performing throughout the day.
If you’d like to volunteer an hour of your time for this event, contact us at diversity@yale.edu.
