Since 1975 Ellen has provided bibliographic and authority record information for library materials in Latin American studies and in Iberian languages (Spanish, Portuguese, Catalan, Galician, Bable, etc.) at Yale, which also are submitted to international research databases.

A member of SALALM (Seminar on the Acquisition of Latin American Library Materials), an international organization which promotes the cooperative development of library collections of Latin Americana in support of educational research, Ellen is chair of its executive board committee on Policy, Research & Investigation, and is past chair of its Committee on Cataloging and Bibliographic Technology.

She is a fellow of Yale’s Timothy Dwight College, a member of the Yale Latino Networking Group Steering Committee, and sits on Yale’s Peabody Museum Associates Council and 2 organizing committees for events serving underrepresented museum visitors.
